$1.4M Bags Relatively Restrained Modern In Morningside

New, 2 comments

Tucked off Highland Avenue in the cozy confines of Morningside, this stylish modern residence really, really wants to exist. The plans have been floating on the market for more than 70 days with a $1.4 million price tag attached. With this aesthetic (at that price), the market might be limited, but it's tough to argue with the 4,000 square-foot product, designed by DNK Architects and to be built by frequent OBIE award winners Cablik Modern Dwellings. If the builder's name rings a bell, they did the feature residence on the Atlanta Modern Home Tour last year, along with the Skyline at Edgewood townhomes and other $1 million-plus contemporary homes in Midtown. This one would appear to have a fluid design (and sprawling utility room!) that maximizes its industrial-sized windows, with an exterior that leans more restrained than obnoxious. As shown, though, the pool is fish-pond size, and let's hope the place backs up to woods with that many posterior windows. With Piedmont Park's latest extension, the listing's exclamation that the park and Beltline are within walking distance is pretty much true, though comfy footwear would be recommended.
