PolicyMic took a closer look at Georgia's burgeoning film industry and boldly declared that with enough time and gumption, it may be possible — though very difficult and, let's be honest, not likely — for the state to unseat Los Angeles as the movie-making capital of the world. Only four movies were shot in Georgia in 2001, but thanks to generous tax credits for filmmakers, that number rose to 142 by 2013. Meanwhile, the percentage of top 25 blockbusters shot in L.A. fell from 64 percent in 1998 to 8 percent in 2013. Watch out, Hollywood, we're coming for you! [PolicyMic]
