Re-Development Du Jour

Next to Bobby Jones Golf Course, 84 post-World War II apartments will be replaced with four- and five-story apartment buildings during the second phase of a $100 million redevelopment by Pollack Shores Real Estate, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The project's first phase, construction of a 280-unit complex called The Jane, started last year. Colonial Homes are truly dated-looking and their position next to the Beltline makes them a prime target for redevelopment, but the question this brings to mind is: When is it best to replace and when is it best to renovate?
