After successfully raising $21.1 million through a recent capital campaign, the Atlanta History Center is about to take a step into the future by embarking upon an extensive, modern renovation of its 37,000-square-foot museum. Upgrades will include an expanded 5,300-square-foot atrium, a new entrance facade along West Paces Ferry Road, a new bookstore/bistro and $3 million worth of improvements to the Center's 22 acres of historic gardens and grounds. The History Center will be open throughout the construction, which will start in July and take about a year. [Information via AJC. Image via Atlanta History Center.]
