An Answer! This Is What's Happening On N. Druid Hills Road

New, 3 comments

We have an answer, and the answer is officially townhomes. Earlier this week, we wondered aloud about an obviously sizable project along North Druid Hills Road near Merry Lane, where more than a dozen homes were recently razed and fenced off. Since then, an answer has emerged: Ryland Homes plans to build 65 townhomes on the property, complete with pool and dog park. Ryland's Eric Masaschi said plans were submitted about three months ago for the project, known as Towns at Druid Hills. They hope to have a land development permit in-hand "any day now," at which point ground will be officially broken, Masaschi told Curbed Atlanta.

In terms of specifics, Masaschi said no sketches or renderings were available yet for public release. He did say these townhomes will be large, ranging from roughly 2,700 to more than 3,000 square feet. Base prices are destined for the mid- to high-400Ks. "Obviously we're still finalizing our plans, but they'll be really nice townhomes, similar to what's going on around the area," Masaschi said.

A specific timeline for the project is still up in the air. If you want to get a sense of what the development might look like, cruise around the Interwebs and check out local Ryland projects like Lenox Overlook (Buford Highway near Briarwood Road) and Towns at Breton Ridge (Smyrna).
