Beltline Bucks

The good news just keeps coming for the Beltline, which announced today that it has received a $5 million grant for the Westside Trail. The money comes from the James M. Cox Foundation and will be used for a campaign to raise more money — kind of like using the three wishes the genie gave you to ask for more wishes. About 42 percent of the funding for the three-mile section will come from a TIGER grant (rawr!) from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Cox Foundation, named after the founder of Cox Enterprises, with Sarah and Jim Kennedy has already provided the Beltline grants to the tune of $7.5 million.
