Urban Exploration

Stalactites, abandoned shoes, rooftop trees and Downtown views are just the start of what Creative Loafing, with the help of an AJC photographer and some serious respirators, found inside the old Atlanta Constitution building at 143 Alabama St. during a recent tour. Also present: Lots and lots of trash and some mysterious black bags. Almost everything of any worth was stripped by looters long ago, but the city plans to clean the property and sell the once-threatened 1947 structure, which, at its core, is in fairly good shape despite years of neglect.
