Master Plans

The Medline Corridor, a 500-acre swath of land around DeKalb Medical Center (bordered by North Decatur Road, Church Street, DeKalb Industrial Way and Scott Boulevard), has spent five months soliciting opinions on how the area should be redeveloped, and the people have spoken. The new master plan, based on those opinions, calls for a compact, walkable "wellness district" with more mixed-use developments. It also requests that the six-point intersection at Scott Boulevard, North Decatur Road and Medlock Road, which a planning administrator called "very, very crazy," to chill out a bit. Medlock Road might be closed to achieve that. The plan will be presented publicly on June 5. [WABE. Image courtesy of the Medline Livable Centers Initiative.]
