Eight-Story Project To Consume Shopping Center, Asphalt

New, 6 comments

Luxury apartment builder Grayco will make its entrée into the Atlanta market with an eight-story project where the Brookwood Square shopping center stands now, Bisnow reports.

The 2140 Peachtree Road drive-up shopping destination is home to vegetarian favorite Café Sunflower, a salon, a gym, some medical offices and other businesses. But Grayco reportedly wants to change the function of the block by the beginning of 2016, adding 250 top-shelf apartments to some 16,000 in the Atlanta pipeline at the moment. The Houston's restaurant on the corner will be spared, with the rental community wrapping and rising behind that piece. And here's another morsel for potential tenants: The project will be connected with the rest of the city via the Beltline, when the trail/transit stretches that far in roughly 2032.
