Swanky, Pricey Collier Hills Abode Bears Few Traces Of 1953

New, 5 comments

Here's a pimped-out 1950s home in Collier Hills whose listing name-drops the Beltline and gloats over one massive fenced-in yard. Unfortunately, the listing photos don't provide a full-frontal shot, so it's tough to say how much Mid-Century cool this 1953 relic exudes. Here's what we do know: The back yard offers a true intown oasis, with an artfully landscaped and terraced slope, gunite swimming pool and, as the listing agent puts it, "a football field to spare!" While acreage might not be the most key intown selling point, updates like Carrera marble countertops and Viking appliances are. The only catch would be the sheer size of the place — less than 1,400 square feet, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms — for an asking price of $549,000. Then again, pimping doesn't require all that much space. And pimping out the requisite riding lawnmower is totally possible these days.
