As recently as last year, Atlanta real estate watchers were wont to gripe about a severe lack of new townhomes in the city. But more and more options are beginning to sprout, even beyond high-visibility locations like Midtown, Phipps Plaza and Beltline-connected Old Fourth Ward. Like in Edgewood, for instance. Townhomes have girded the Edgewood Retail District for years, with more coming online at Hardee Station each day, but a couple of blocks away, buyers will find a massive two-townhome combo that "lives like a single family house," per the listing agent. Both four-bedroom units have textbook open floor plans, two decks and a crisp, clean aesthetic, for the most part. Both sit between the aforementioned retail district and Edgewood's MARTA train station. The square footage of the townhome pictured above remains a mystery, but the sister unit is listed as having an immense 2,800 square feet. Which brings us to the issue of price — both are asking $449,000 — and the point at which we wonder aloud if someone will pay that much in this location.
