A 2005 contract between Atlanta Public Schools and the city has become a sticking point for officials, to the point it threatens to derail (perhaps literally) Beltline progress. Outgoing APS chief Erroll Davis and Mayor Reed are bashing heads and talking litigation over payments the city was supposed to make to APS, in exchange for Beltline financial support via tax dollars. The giant wrench in those plans was called the Great Recession. [WABE]
