Broker babble is notorious for being silly, lazy or in the case of this new-construction in Edgewood, precious: "Be the first to start making memories in this home." Awww. Treacle tastes good sometimes, right? But there's something to be said for a new home, like the one-year, bumper-to-bumper warranties that come standard. And closets. This four-bedroom, two-bathroom Craftsman sits around the corner from the neighborhood's MARTA train station and its eponymous, big-box retail district. And at $399,900, with about 2,000 square feet, it proves that sizable, seemingly quality new homes under the $400,000 threshold aren't extinct yet. This one boasts trey ceilings, a handsome fireplace that could stand the test of a century or two, a cookout-ready deck and lush backyard. You could practically hit Candler Park with a baseball from here, but you wouldn't get its schools. And Edgewood might be a little too (euphemism alert!) transitional for some tastes.
