For Now, These Homes Near The Beltline Ask Less Than $200K

New, 17 comments

If living along the Beltline's Eastside Trail is proving a little too pricey, turn your attention westward. A Beltline-adjacent home is within reach — at least for right now — for under $200,000 in historic neighborhoods like West End, Westview and Adair Park. Here are five houses, on the market right now, that'll put you (and your smart investment money) alongside Atlanta's favorite trail for a fraction of the price you'd pay in Inman Park or Old Fourth Ward for the same house.

976 Mathews Street
Neighborhood: West End
This 1,824-square-foot three-bedroom bungalow was renovated in the last year (it sold for $25,000 in March of 2013) and now sports stainless steel appliances, a claw-foot tub and storage aplenty. The spacious back yard and deck and short jaunt to the Beltline can be yours for $192,000.

988 Allene Avenue
Neighborhood: Adair Park
This 1,536-square-foot three-bedroom house boasts two fireplaces, hardwood floors and a two-minute walk to the Beltline — all for $135,000.

1558 Olympian Way
Neighborhood: Westview
Admittedly, most of the photos of this house look the same (wall and window, anyone?) but a signed statehttp://mt.curbednetwork.com/mt-static/images/formatting-icons/bold.gifment indicates that the four-bedroom home has recently received quite the renovation: new HVAC, new roof, two new bathrooms, new kitchen including cabinets and stainless appliances, new electrical rewiring, new floors in the kitchen and bathrooms, new or recently repaired plumbing, new pretty much everything. It asks just $119,900.

992 Allene Avenue
Neighborhood: Adair Park
Like its neighbor above, this cute blue house is just a block or so away from the Beltline. Despite having three bedrooms and three baths, it comes in at a cozy 1,040 square feet. Then again, it is asking just $89,000 (no, there's not a digit missing).

510 Hopkins Street
Neighborhood: West End
This 1928 bungalow has three bedrooms and two baths in its 1,546 recently renovated feet. Per the listing, the electrical, plumbing, kitchen and baths were redone in 2009 and it recently got a new roof, windows and interior paint job. Wander to the Beltline in about five minutes for $198,000.
