MARTA Matters

New, 30 comments

What would it take to get more Atlantans to ride public transit? Bribery? Threats? Impassioned pleas? Here's a better idea: How about putting a station right underneath their feet? MARTA, which seems to have gotten serious about aggressively growing ridership numbers lately, is looking into selling the air rights above several unnamed intown train stations to developers with the hopes that topping stations with high-rise, mixed-use projects will grow revenue, bring more investment into the city and increase the urban density we all crave.
