Park Progression

Here now, special Outdoors Week kudos go out to MARTA officials for thinking outside the box, looking beneath their elevated tracks and seeing five acres of opportunity — and a future community gathering space — in an area packed with soulless parking lots and congested streets. Plans for "Perimeter Park @ Dunwoody MARTA Station" call for lovely little fields, walking paths and bridges around an existing stream, all squeezed between Perimeter Center Parkway and Perimeter Mall. It wouldn't be much larger than Woodruff Park downtown, but as the Historic Fourth Ward Park's green-spaces have proven, size doesn't matter much when people are hankering to go outside and get together.
