If all goes as planned, mass-transit enthusiasts might be able to ride the Atlanta Streetcar to Thanksgiving dinner, even though the $100-million project is all but wrapped. Tim Borchers, Atlanta Streetcar director, told the AJC this week that finishing tasks on the project's checklist will take up to four more months, which has inspired one councilman to deride it as an "expensive toy." Meanwhile, supporters are pointing to more than 50 nearby projects (worth nearly $800 million) that have been built, or will soon open, since the streetcar's 2010 announcement. [AJC]
