New Westside Rentals Offer Perks Galore, Mega Sky Deck

New, 16 comments

Walton Westside, a brand-new offering from Marietta-based Walton Communities, is quite clearly trying to be the Oprah Winfrey of apartment complexes. "Look under your seats! Free books for everyone!" That's the community's free book-of-the-month program in action. There's also a free lending library! Free childcare and services for single parents! Free covered parking! Free electric car charging stations! Reduced-cost counseling for residents! The apartment rental industry is getting so competitive... even Oprah can't fit that much swag into the under-the-seat goodie bag. Then there's the self-service pet spa, the full-service on-site coffee shop, the valet trash service and the 2,000-square-foot Westside Sky Deck with skyline views. Oh, and there are also apartments — 254 of 'em. That's probably important to mention.

The one- and two-bedroom units range from 700 to 1,270 square feet with standard-apartment modern decor: dark granite countertops, subway tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances... that sort of thing. They lack personality but are nice enough for what they are. Plus, they're a short jaunt to the Westside Provisions District's shops and restaurants, and if the Atlanta Waterworks Park ever becomes reality, Walton Westside residents will be in the middle of the action. As with any large project, it is behind schedule. Residents were supposed to start moving in in June, but the pre-leasing office has just opened.
