Dead Plants and Drawn Curtains: How Not to Stage a House

Nobody said staging a house was easy. You need the right furniture. Enough accessories to make it look homey without making it cluttered. Browsing listings, you'll find house after house that misses the mark just slightly, a bit too much with the floral arrangements or a few too many personal items. But few — very few — flail as spectacularly in their attempts as this three-bedroom ranch in Tucker. The 1,864-square-foot home asks $245,000 with broker babble that boasts a "gorgeous master suite" and "beautiful hardwood floors" but it's almost impossible to see past the Big Mouth Billy Bass and empty Kleenex boxes to appreciate the house's better qualities.
