Shimmering Three Alliance Center Gets a Groundbreaking Date

New, 7 comments

Renderings of the proposed Three Alliance Center in Buckhead have dazzled with their unusual design and glimmering facade, but as Atlanta has learned all too well, proposals do not equal buildings. Fortunately, New York-based developers Tishman Speyer have announced that construction on the 30-story tower will begin August 1 with a goal of completing it by September 2016. As its name implies, the $175 million office tower will be the third in the Alliance Center trio, which also includes the already-completed 20-story One Alliance and 30-story Two Alliance buildings. The new addition will be the largest office building built in the Atlanta market since 2008, with 500,000 leasable square feet. When Three Alliance is completed, nearly 10 percent of Buckhead's 17 million square feet of office space will be located in the trio of towers.

In addition to 19 levels of office space, Three Alliance will also include 10 levels of parking with approximately 1,250 spaces. It's also next to the Buckhead MARTA station, so commuters who want a greener, less trafficky option can choose public transit. Mack Scogin of Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects is responsible for the building's unique design. Some previous plans have shown Stratford Road frontage but Buckhead View reports that the "building and parking decks were switched to provide Lenox Road frontage for the building and entrance to parking."
