Creative Loafing stokes the embers of the ongoing teardown/McMansion/tree-canopy debate in Decatur and offers brain-candy aplenty in a piece called "Teardown mania!" At center stage is the issue of "infill housing" — building huge homes that can be "cartoonishly swollen" on the ashes of smaller predecessors, which is happening at a rate of 50 lots per year in Decatur. Says one city official: "We're trying as much as we can to make [developers] pay attention to context." [CL]
