The Braves have selected a developer for the 74-acre, $400 million mixed-use development and "entertainment district" around their new Cobb County home. And as predicted in April, when the only other serious contender dropped out of the running, the project will be led by Fuqua Development, Pope & Land Enterprises, and Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Given Fuqua's reputation and popularity (or, ahem, lack thereof), the choice isn't likely to increase enthusiasm for the already-divisive project.

The enormous endeavor, which could include up to 630,000 square feet of office space, 500,000 square feet of retail, 450 hotel rooms and 500 residences needs to be completed by the time the new stadium opens in 2017.
