High Above Midtown, These Fetching Views Cost $579K

New, 9 comments

The listing agent goes out on a limb to call the 1010 Midtown building "Atlanta's most desirable Midtown address." That's debatable, but the notion that this $579,900 unit has the building's best-selling floorplan is presented here as fact. High sales volume isn't too surprising, given the up-the-gut-of-Peachtree-Street views from the living room and long, slender balcony. Buying one of these 425 condos hasn't exactly been cheap since the building was delivered in 2008, but the price includes what could be Atlanta's most walkable lifestyle: quick access to Piedmont Park, the Fox Theatre and what the agent, obviously restricted by character limits, calls "100+ r'rants!" in Scooby-Doo language. The exceptional "park in the sky" pool area — so many cabana seats, such manicured gardens — shines through despite the uninspired listing photos. This kind of money would bag a top-shelf house in most Atlanta neighborhoods, but no house has comparable porch views. Here it gets a little less than 1,400 square feet and two bedrooms.
