For Nearly $1 Million, Oakhurst Abode Brings The Space

New, 12 comments

From the street, this Oakhurst concept is unlikely to knock any buyer's socks off, but that's probably the point. Situated where Oakhurst meets Kirkwood, this "modern classic bungalow" by Arlene Dean Quality Homes — known for inventive flips and handsome new-construction in established neighborhoods like Decatur — is rather inconspicuous for its size: six-bedrooms and a whopping 4,700 square feet. Of course, with zoning for Oakhurst Elementary School through Decatur High, so much fresh living space will carry a hefty price, which in this case is $950,000. Perks include two large porches, a finished basement with a kitchenette and two-vehicle carport (albeit accessed via an alley). The downside would be the fact that living here could cost nearly $1 million. With a MARTA station around the corner and conceivable walkability to the village districts of Decatur, Oakhurst and Kirkwood, the home carries a curiously low Walk Score of 62. Hmm.
