Atlanta INtown reports that the loooong wait to see an Atlanta streetcar actually traversing the city will be over on Friday when Streetcar 1003 leaves its shelter around midnight. The big blue carriage will be towed around the 2.7 mile route, stopping at each of the 12 stops to measure clearances and tease people into thinking they might actually ride this thing someday. It'll continue gliding down the tracks at around 5 mph, causing street closures as it moves with its police escorts, until around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, at which time, it will go back to sleep, leaving those who witnessed its journey it to wonder if it was all just a dream.
