Apartment Barometer

Despite what the media — and your eyeballs — might suggest, Atlanta may not be overdeveloping itself with new apartments right now, according to one expert. Towers dot the sky, and a new ribbon cutting seems to happen each week, but higher costs for labor and land are keeping new apartment starts far below 2000 levels in The A. "The same thing is happening all over the country," Ron Witten of Dallas-based Witten Advisors LLC said during a recent presentation. "This activity is concentrated in these infill locations close to jobs and entertainment." [Atlanta Business Chronicle]
