First Look: ATL's College Football Pantheon Finally Exists

New, 24 comments

After several years of fundraising struggles and construction delays, Atlanta's downtown pantheon to collegiate gridiron legends and traditions opened its doors to the media Thursday. The $68 million College Football Hall of Fame is more like an interactive experience than a temple full of artifacts and busts. Inside, there are touchscreens and technology galore (the architecture and interiors were created by the same company, tvsdesign, as the Georgia Aquarium). Officials expect some 500,000 locals and Atlanta tourists to venture into the hall each year, creating an estimated $12 million economic impact that's comparable to many NFL salaries. It's a feather in downtown's tourism cap, and another milestone in a busy year for significant intown projects. At the hall of fame, a standard adult tickets costs $19.75. But this sneak peek won't cost you a dime.
