Festival Pushback

It might be a David vs. Goliath scenario, politically speaking, but the Midtown Neighbors Association is voting "nay" to Music Midtown 2014. Citing concerns with traffic, noise, safety and Piedmont Park damage, the community group voted down the festival's 2014 event plan and application last week. While that vote hardly sounds like enough to derail Music Midtown — set for Sept. 19 and 20, with 85,000 two-day tickets for sale — it's clear the MNA is frustrated enough to dig up open-record emails as ammunition.
