Festive Gatherings

With Music Midtown mere days away, the Saporta Report sits down with festival organizer Peter Conlon for a thorough interview that covers neighborhood gripes, the historical context of Piedmont Park, the festival's money woes and other compelling topics. On the subject of rain-induced damage, Conlon says: "Last year, we spent more than $100,000 remediating the park … We put down mulch, and we put grass in places where there had not been any grass before. We did things that had not been there before we held Music Midtown." In vaguely related news, it appears Conlon has an offer pending on his $2.1 million Buckhead condo. [Saporta]
