The deal is done. The new Cobb County home of the Braves will be called SunTrust Park. It doesn't quite roll off the tongue the same way "The Ted" did, but it's better than Louisville's KFC Yum! Center or Oakland's Overstock.com Coliseum (now known as O.co Coliseum). The bank struck a 25-year deal for the naming rights to the ballpark for an undisclosed amount. According to Business Insider, financial institutions hold the naming rights to about 20 percent of major sports league venues across the country, with banks spending more than $2 billion to slap their brands onto sporting arenas between 1998 and 2011. SunTrust will have marquee signage on the stadium itself as well as additional signage and "promotional opportunities" around the ballpark and surrounding mixed-use complex.
