For $99, anyone can own a unique slice of the railroad tracks that predated the Atlanta Beltline, thanks to a grassroots fundraising campaign. Beltline officials partnered with digital marketing firm Nebo and local sculptor Jason Smith to cut 1,000 pieces of rail, each numbered and stamped, for Eastside Trail enthusiasts or fans of strange Christmas gifts. As of this morning, 602 rail slices were left; all proceeds go toward Beltline projects and programs. [BuildtheBeltLine.org]
