New Candler Park Townhomes Summon High-$400Ks

New, 13 comments

DeKalb Avenue has long been a hotbed for townhomes, and with that pesky Recession firmly in the rearview, the trend continues. The latest offering is a 12-unit cluster called Axis Townhomes, located in Candler Park, pretty much equidistant to Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q and the Edgewood-Candler Park MARTA Station. With cement siding, seamless gutters and sleek decking, these could be the most modern townhomes in the area — and that sort of panache comes at a price. The three-bedroom homes listed thus far range from $479,900 to $489,900, with the largest being 2,300 square feet atop a two-car garage. They'll include requisite finishes like granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances. Judging from the few available renderings, the balconies appear to be generous, with high privacy walls. DeKalb Avenue might not be the first choice for families, and the 68 Walk Score seems suspiciously low. According to builder Minerva Homes' website, the property for Axis "was obtained via (a) 'friendly' foreclosure." This crop has been on the market for about a month.
