Despite a self-described lack of pyramid-building skills, Decatur resident and artist Fabian Williams is attempting to build a 12-foot by eight-foot pyramid that pays homage to Atlanta music collective The Dungeon Family near the Beltline. Williams had a go at raising $10,000 for the project on Kickstarter but only got to $250 so he has moved to alternate fundraising methods. While the pyramid will have the dimensions of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the aesthetic inspiration for the portraits comes from Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel and the overarching idea comes from the Dungeon Family. That's visionary, right there. [Creative Loafing]
