Like These Swanky Townhomes? You'll Need at Least $1M

New, 3 comments

Atlanta's new crop of for-sale townhomes isn't sprouting solely in places like Old Fourth Ward and Midtown. Buckhead is getting in on the game, too, but true to Buckhead form, the offerings are painfully pricey. Tucked behind Phipps Plaza, an 11-home project called The Metropolitan at Phipps — or "The Met@Phipps," if you're cool — is selling for no cheaper than $999,900, and up to at least $1.1 million. Three units at The Met were reportedly under contract last October, and that hasn't changed, if listings are updated to reflect contingencies. And if that's accurate, in this market, that's surprising.

We haven't been by this site for a while, but the townhome's wood frames were clearly coming out of the ground last December, so it's a safe bet they're getting ripe for market, if they aren't finished already. These certainly aren't the only $1 million townhomes in Buckhead, but they could be the most modern.

So, for the Atlanta townhome buyer with a $1 million budget, The Met offers four stories of contemporary style, designed by respected architects Smith Dalia and built by Cablik Enterprises, the company behind many impressive modern homes around town. The listing is a little vague, but it tells us each home has 10-foot ceilings, a private terrace and is "expertly planned with a spacious, open layouts and large windows" that accentuate city views. Walkability to Legoland also rates very high.
