Gosh, they grow up so fast! It seems like just yesterday when the massive brick edifice on Ponce was haggard ole City Hall East. Today, Ponce City Market's first office tenants, athenahealth, unveiled their sweet new 60,000-square-foot digs inside the brick building and my, how things have changed. The Watertown, Massachusetts-based health IT company will bring 200 employees initially then as many as 600 jobs to their new PCM offices (which may, according to the Business Chronicle, expand to up to 120,000 square feet over the next five years). Today's ribbon-cutting for the modern, lofty build-out was attended by leaders from athenahealth, PCM and the city. Before long, athenahealth will be joined by fellow PCM office tenants email marketing company MailChimp (115,603 square feet), architectural firm Surber, Barber, Choate & Hertlein (4,472 square feet) and Jamestown (63,268 square feet), which will move its headquarters to the property.
