Pedestrian Activity

New, 2 comments

Prince Avenue is a bit more colorful this week thanks to a pilot program for pedestrian safety; Athens-Clarke County has deployed buckets of neon flags for people to wave proudly in the crosswalks to attract the attention of drivers. Once safely on the other side of the street, pedestrians are supposed to deposit the flags in the buckets and carry on their merry way. However, similar programs in other cities have been canceled due to the flags disappearing. Coincidentally, the new accessory every UGA student wants in their dorm room this semester is (probably) a bright orange flag. [AJC]
