ATL Snubs

As metro Atlanta pops bubbly over the news of Mercedes-Benz's headquarters relocation from New Jersey, Bisnow sends a sour reminder that ATL doesn't score with every tax-paying, job-creating corporate giant it courts. In a deal that would've been nearly twice as large as Mercedes — in terms of sheer employees, if not brand clout — tire maker Bridgestone shunned Atlanta in its search for a new headquarters, taking its talents (and 1,700 jobs) to Nashville, where they'll be building a shiny, 30-story tower downtown. Pretend you're a corporate giant: Was this a wise decision?
