Analyzing Underground

The Saporta Report catches up this week with Darron Cooper, a former Georgia Tech graduate student who compiled intriguing research on Underground Atlanta just as the city (unbeknownst to Cooper) was in the process of unloading it. In terms of retail, Underground's subterranean location is a huge stumbling block, Cooper concluded, although Houston has found a way to make tunnels beneath its business district appealing to shoppers. Redone correctly, Cooper posits, Underground could be a magnet for the nearly 25,000 residents he counted within a one-mile radius.
