Near PCM, This Old Fourth Ward Cottage is Shindig Central

New, 15 comments

Recluses need not apply here. This artfully restored, 1940 bungalow on the Old Fourth Ward's Kennesaw Street — next to North Avenue, up the hill from Ponce City Market — is a frat boy's wet dream. Let's start in the back, with the hot tub, killer little pool and superb outdoor kitchen. Around front, the spacious porch has curtains and comfort like those bygone, bed-themed clubs. The two-sink kitchen has a sort of detached butler's pantry/booze station. All of this adds up to an entertainer's paradise, within walking distance of PCM, the Beltline and Historic Fourth Ward Park. But it's also near a downtrodden section of Boulevard, which could make some buyers uneasy. The $449,900 asking price gets three bedrooms, two bathrooms but less than 1,600 square feet (excluding, of course, the plentiful outdoor space). We're told there's off-street parking with a "luxury electric gate" — just don't drive into the pool. Speaking of which, the lounge area could probably benefit from a little greenery in the ground, somewhere, but it's an intown oasis, for sure. Beyond PCM, walkable dining options include Pizza Hut, McDonald's and IHOP.
