East Point Abode Makes Case for Moving to the South Side

New, 9 comments

An adorable 1939 Cape Cod cottage, sitting on a double lot (the listing claims four acres, but a quick look on Google Maps makes that number seem about eight times too high), has recently hit the market in the city of East Point. Recently renovated, the home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms in just over 1,600 square feet. The listing photos show light-filled rooms, substantial molding and original solid doors and hardware. While the kitchen could stand for a bit of a redo, overall the home shows very well. And while East Point might not have the cache of more northernly Atlanta neighborhoods, it is less than 10 miles from downtown — for those keeping tabs, that's closer than Sandy Springs. In terms of transportation options, the home is less than a mile from the East Point MARTA station with quick access north into the city or just minutes south to the airport. All things considered, the $175,000 price tag could make a compelling case for the southern side of the Perimeter.
