Trio of Big Buckhead Projects Moves Closer to Construction

New, 3 comments

Three transformative projects in Buckhead Village are one step closer to construction, according to Livable Buckhead. Presentations before the Development Review Committee last month included new images of each project, giving a hint of just what's in store for the streets of Buckhead. First up is Solis on Peachtree (above), designed by nationally-acclaimed, Atlanta-based firm Cooper Carry. The 20-story building (on Peachtree Road, just south of Pharr Road) will feature a pool atop the parking garage and lots of tiny units. The second residential update is for the recently announced Gables building on East Paces Ferry Road. The drawings don't offer too much visual stimulation — except that the loading docks are seemingly designed for trucks that can drive sideways. But the follow-up commentary in Livable Buckhead's most recent newsletter indicates that the developer hopes to participate in the Buc Shuttle program, allowing residents to catch a lift to Lenox Square and MARTA. Finally, just up the street, Loudermilk Properties is proposing yet another building at 359 West Paces Ferry. This one is a five-story office building on top of a six-story parking deck on top of a bank and some retail space, which is on top of yet another level of parking. At least it doesn't look like many Atlanta parking decks. Things in Buckhead are clearly heading up.
