Streets Alive to Overtake Peachtree; Announces New Route

New, 1 comment

The Atlanta Streets Alive carless free-for-all is taking its talents to the east side — the far east side. Officials have announced that Ciclovía-inspired events will stretch beyond October this year with a planned street-closure party in Clarkston for three hours on Sunday, Nov. 8. The multicultural DeKalb County city is accessible via the PATH Foundation trail that stretches to Stone Mountain, and the festival won't be too far from MARTA's Kensington and Avondale stations. But before all of that, Streets Alive returns to familiar turf this Sunday — downtown and Midtown — with a 2.7-mile route that begins at 17th Street and stretches down Peachtree to Edgewood Avenue.
