Atlanta's first legal distillery since Prohibition is wrapping its first full year in business by looking toward a mixed-use future. Jeff Moore, head distiller with Old Fourth Distillery on Edgewood Avenue, tells Curbed the upstart company has closed on the former Walter Aaron Construction building at 536 Decatur St. Naturally, the company is keeping business in their eponymous neighborhood, and Moore says to expect a small mixed-use project on the site, to include offices, expanded manufacturing spaces and room for events. The Epsten Group, also headquartered on Edgewood Avenue, will be heading the design and build-out of the new 15,000-square-foot facility, which Moore says will expand upon — and not replace — current operations. (Moore told Eater Atlanta earlier this year the company's current digs are a mere 1,100 square feet). According to LoopNet, the vacant, graffiti-strewn Decatur Street structure dates to 1940.
