For $545K, will Someone Save this Shabby Va-Hi Tudor?

Standing since 1926 between Virginia-Highland's main commercial hub and the Callanwolde Arts Center, this tall Tudor is being billed as an "amazing opportunity" to enter the coveted neighborhood and its Springdale Park Elementary districting. But is a listing that touts the size of the land — "One of the neighborhoods biggest lots 50 feet X 231 feet deep enough for pool, huge yard & privacy!" (all sic) — also the death knell for this old house? Teardowns costing north of 1/2-million bucks aren't uncommon in this neck of the woods, and this home's single bathroom and somewhat tired appearance don't exactly bode well for its survival. And the fact that the listing provides a single, sideways interior shot does not suggest the inside is in sterling condition, either. But who knows? Whatever the case, this house/blank slate will set a buyer back $545,000.
