Work crews got busy last week tearing down a range of midcentury two-story apartments in far South Buckhead. The old blah buildings were located on Ardmore Place — what could be the magical missing 27th Street — just off of Peachtree Road, south of Piedmont Hospital. Curbed tipster Nate Watkins sent over photos of the demolition process, but indicated there is little information about what's to come. The demolition permit applications for the work list the project as "28th @ Brookwood," which sounds like a high-end residential proposal if there ever was one. If so, new apartments (or condos) would compliment the nearby recently completed Ardmore & 28th luxury residences, be located near the Tanyard Creek spur of the Beltline and fit in nicely with the spate of new development destined for this red-hot section of Peachtree, just over the Brookwood Split from Midtown.
