Massive Complex Pitched on Site of Old Druid Hills Rentals

New, 2 comments

Atlanta-based residential developer PulteGroup has purchased an aging apartment complex at North Druid Hills and Clairmont Road and will likely develop a massive new housing project on the site. Tomorrow's News Today reports that TriBridge Residential sold the 37 acres containing the Williamsburg Apartments last month, paving the way for development to start early next year. The sale marks just a part of TriBridge Residential's major portfolio shakeup. Recently, the group annouced they are selling the Darlington Apartment tower on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, too.

The Williamsburg apartments — traditional two-story buildings surrounded by parking lots — were built back in 1965. Located near Emory University, the CDC and the VA, the site is well-suited for a major overhaul. And Tomorrow's News Today speculates that, given the size of the site, it's likely the density of development will be pushed much higher than the current arrangement allows. While no official plans have been announced, given PulteGroup's project history, it's probably a safe bet the new development will contain single-family homes and townhomes.
