PATH400 has been open for a few weeks now, so in celebration of some good weather on Saturday, we decided to take a legal trip — not that any illegal trips were ever taken — along the trail between Old Ivy Road and Lenox Road. Despite the obliging weather, there were only two people spotted along the half-mile of trail that makes up the first PATH400 segment. With few options for safely being a pedestrian in Buckhead, maybe it'll take some time for walkers, joggers and cyclists to get used to the idea they can enjoy the outdoors without the threat of being mowed by a car. No doubt, there are a few kinks to be worked out as more of the trail opens in the future — the eight-lane crossing at Lenox Road comes to mind — but this unique urban amenity is clearly headed in the right direction.
So far, so good for PATH400.
