Transit Tax

New, 1 comment

When it comes to taxes, it's not often that people say they really want some more; however, a new poll conducted by the Georgia Transportation Alliance shows that a majority of Peach State denizens support an increase in gas taxes if it means transportation will improve. Both Democrats and Republicans have indicated support for the measure, and 53 percent of respondents are in favor of the $1 billion-plus transportation bill, with even more supporting a dedicated fund for transit statewide. So there might be some traction for House Bill 170 after all. [AJC; photo via autoevolution.com]
