Millennial Watch

Creative Loafing offers a thought-provoking column this week that urges Millennials to commit themselves to Atlanta and become involved in local school systems — and to not consider the city a layover between college and cheaper, suburban housing and stronger schools. The author posits that "all the bike lanes, light-rail, and high-speed connections won't keep (Millennials) here for the long term if the city can't provide the most basic government service of all: a quality public education." One commenter poignantly chimes in: "Atlanta is a pretty awesome place, but if transit were even serviceable and the schools not a wasteland of despair, this place would be unstoppable."
