Buried in Lake Claire's Bosom, this Artsy Loft Seeks $320K

New, 4 comments

This two-bedroom loft in a tucked-away Lake Claire community called Sutherland Place strikes a balance between urban sophistication and rural seclusion — with a splash of European flair. Built in 2005, the Sutherland Place Lofts caress a European-style courtyard (with echoes of Serenbe) and offer supreme rooftop lounges (this one, as is, has a gas grill and shaded seating). Moving inside, the word of the day is "airy," beginning with the two-story great room and the high, wood-beamed ceilings. The booze-loaded credenza helps compensate for the smallish kitchen. Upgrades include a Murphy bed in the secondary bedroom and light fixtures that aren't from 2005. For $320,000 (plus $342 in monthly HOA fees), the unit has two full baths and more than 1,500 square feet, putting it in the realm of larger two-bedroom condos. Though a buyer could conceivably walk to MARTA stations and Candler Park's commercial strip, the Walk Score is an underwhelming 53. But such is the price of seclusion.
